You know, I have stuff "stashed" in a variety of places.
Under my desk at work. Well, it is is convenient as anything I have ordered online I have shipped to work. Ummm, not because I need to hide it but because there is no guarantee that anyone would be home to properly greet a shipment of knitting stuff.
Next to the chair in the family room. To be honest, this is where I keep most of my needles and other tools. There is a tidy little space next to MY chair. We have a tall cabinet and a short cabinet and a lamp (which is why this is my space). The short cabinet is a perfect place for any current books that I am reviewing from the library and my darling hubby doesn't generally look there when he is looking around for past due books. The space is perfect for my Option binder and my soft (cloth) binder in which I store my other tools. Plus, I can just drop any of my WIP which I generally store in plastic bags (usually gallon size), right down the side of the chair. A perfect place.
The master bath shower. Sounds weird, I know. The yarn is in bins, sorted by fiber and weight. We don't use this shower and haven't for years. I also use it as a extra closet exchanging summer for winter clothing and vice versa.
That area towards the back of the closet, next to the wall closest to my bed. This is the odd balls . . . seriously, a lot of acrylic stuff that I don't care about and really just need to clean and donate to someone, although I do think I have an afghan that I have mostly crocheted in there . . . .
Being my usual neurotic self when I travel I am always concerned that there will some horrid accident, and whomever is left to clean up my mess will not realize the VALUE of my stash. Hence prior to leaving on vacation a couple of weeks ago, I sent an email to my sisters with the note that in case of any horrific accidents during our vacation, they can fight over my stash. Of course, I didn't tell them where everything was
but we returned and my stash is safely in its place . . . but now, because of Ravelry, I am having to focus on what exactly I have.
