However, I despise the way it looks buttoned. WHY??? Why would someone button it so that three buttons are buttoned down and pulled across the boobs and then, just to make sure that no one makes any mistakes, it hangs open to expose your gut. I suppose if you were pregnant, it would give you room to be comfortable but seriously, why would anyone want their gut "framed."
Sigh.

That is, currently, a very popular 'cut' in sweater design. Cruise the Vogue Knitting web site. They're all over. I say "WHY???!!??" for the same exact reasons you've listed.
