oh, I went secret pal shopping yesterday!!!!

Yep, on the way to class last evening, I took a little detour to my most favorite local yarn shop, Birds of a Feather, in Avon Lake, Ohio!!! I found some totally awesome lace . . . Cherry Tree Hill's Suri Lace (Alpaca) in Peacock! While I've never done lace and am not sure that I would want to do lace, this stuff is awesome. I am so excited that I decided to get it packed up and ready to go by the first mailing date! Very very cool . . . didn't take any pictures because my camera is not behaving! I also bought a Cherry Tree Hill lace pattern. It is called the Cockle Shell Scarf to go with the Suri Lace.

I also bought some Wildfoote luxury Sock Yarn in "Rock 'N Roll" . . . incredibly appropriate since I am in the Rock 'N Roll city!! This is for my Secret Pal 8. The colors are blues, greens, oranges, reds, yellow and gold. It too will be ready to go.

I also purchased some wool to make the bowls (I think) that are in the One Skein book. I have to think about the size, etc. but I am really impressed with the way they look and others that I have seen made up. The wools I purchased are in green, taupe and beige, so there is lots of flexibility in working them up.

This is soooooo much fun and I hope my recipients enjoy their gifts as much as I enjoyed getting them.

And, by the way, this is a picture of my kiddos (they are 20, 12 and 5):

My MIL lives that way and I got her in there one day while I was I was visiting now she takes a bunch of classes over there..Everyone who works there in so nice. I usually sit right by the sock drawers, park my butt right there for the evening.....lol
Were planning on moving out that way someday. Was going to when school got out this year but things changed again. DH thinking of Vermilion Sheifield Lake. Will be in Elyria (less then 5 minutes to the shop, have you been inthe fiber shop across the lot there?) until we find something
I thought I had the odd spaced age gap children 18, 6, & 4.8....I'm not alone. beautiful picture!

Soapy,
The Fiber store is why I went out there in the first place. I was looking for Addi 40" and it was one of the places that sold it. I sent my sister to the fiber store because she wanted to get into spinning. My sister is the one that sent me to Birds. I am so glad! I love having the kids spread out . . . and in the picture they are even acting like they like each other! LOL! Usually, they are pretty good with each other and other times . . . phew.

They're beautiful. Thanks for your words of encouragement. It means a lot to me, and DH, whether he knows it or not!
