This past weekend

We took a little mini-vacation this past weekend. We went up to a cottage by Port Clinton. It is not directly on Lake Erie but is on the Sandusky River. These pics are from the porch on the back of the cottage, looking straight across the Sandusky.

It is a rather nice place. Very quiet and we try to go there for at least one weekend every fall. We don't do a heck of a lot while we are up there. We took a couple of drives, went to a local dive for breakfast (it is a tradition). It is only open for breakfast and lunch and most of the customers are regulars.
We stand out like soar thumbs . . . plus, Lindsey had her "baby" with her. It is a computerized doll from school. It was actually funny because she was getting so terribly stressed and then would get upset because she was getting stressed.

Now, doesn't she look like she is having fun?
After we got home on Sunday and put away all our stuff, we sent out for dinner at one of our local restaurants. It is very nice and very small. The waitresses were fascinated by Lindsey's baby. The one commented that maybe if she had had one when she was in 9th grade, maybe she wouldn't have had her first baby when she was 17.

And this is just a pic of Zachariah, being very debonair and getting ready for our dinner out. Mr. Cool.

Sounds like a great weekend! They do the doll thing at our HS too. When my DD was in HS they had to carry around flour sacks and pretend they were babies - I don't think it had quite the same effect - flour sacks don't wake you up at 2 in the morning.
